Dhanush's 'SIR': 'Banjara' is musical and thought-provoking

Dhanush’s Telugu-Tamil bilingual 'SIR' is directed by Venky Atluri. The film's first song, titled 'Maastaru Maastaru', was soft and romantic in nature. But the latest song, titled 'Banjara', prods the listener to think.

Written earnestly by Suddala Ashok Teja, it is about man's place in the grand scheme of things. Without sounding preachy, the writer uses metaphors related to Nature to drive home the message that we don't own anything in this Universe. We are mere travellers who shouldn't hanker after accumulation. The concept of selflessness is highlighted through the lyrics.

Sung by the talented Anurag Kulkarni of 'Ramuloo Ramulaa' fame, 'Banjara' is composed by GV Prakash Kumar. The picturization is simple and comes with zero frills. Vijay Binni's dance choreography is modelled after Kollywood songs of a similar flavour.

Dhanush being Dhanush, he ensures that the chirpy and lively vibes of the song are effectively delivered.

The film will head to theatres on February 17.
