Very reasonable! Fans of Telugu superstars get frustrated

Telugu cinema has become synonymous with postponements of big-ticket movies. The bigger the movie, the worse the delay in its theatrical release. The 'Baahubali' movies started the practice, while 'Saaho' solidified the trend. A film like 'Saaho' would have been completed in just one year by any reasonably skilled Bollywood director.

In recent years, Prabhas' movies have regularly been postponed. 'Radhe Shyam' was delayed by the pandemic. 'Pushpa: The Rise', too, was delayed by the pandemic. Their delays are understandable.

Slowly and surely, inordinate delays have become a fact of life in Tollywood even in normal times. 'Project K' has been delayed like anything. The film might not be released for Sankranthi 2024.

Pawan Kalyan's movies, which are not pan-India movies, have also been delayed. 'Hari Hara Veera Mallu' won't be released in theatres anytime soon. It was supposed to hit the cinemas in March 2022. The less said about 'Ustaad Bhagat Singh', the better. The completion of just one or two schedules has been projected as some sort of major achievement although the project was announced in 2020.

It is said that 'Pushpa: The Rule' may not be released this year. Its first part was released in December 2021. It is shocking that the sequel won't be ready even after two years. Just the commencement of the shoot was delayed by more than a year.

The less said about films like Mahesh Babu's 'Guntur Karam' and Jr NTR's 'Devara', the better. The former has been delayed due to lack of efficiency. The latter, because of 'Acharya'-related issues. To this day, there is no explanation for why Koratala Siva took so long to complete a basic film like 'Acharya', which had pretty ordinary action sequences.

The delays witnessed by Ram Charan's 'Game Changer' are going to frustrate Mega fans further in the coming months. 'Salaar', starring Prabhas, was supposed to be released in theatres in Summer 2022.
