Siddharth, team describe 'Takkar' as a new-age action-filled love story

Siddharth awaits the theatrical release of 'Takkar' on June 9 in Telugu and Tamil. Directed by Karthik G Krish, the up-and-coming movie is produced by TG Vishwa Prasad, Abhishek Agarwal and Passion Studios. The film's pre-release event was held in Hyderabad on Sunday.

Speaking at the film's pre-release event, guest and producer D Suresh Babu described TG Vishwa Prasad and Vivek Kuchibotla, the producers of the Telugu-Tamil release, as his good friends. He also described the 'Bommarillu' actor as a good friend for long.

'Pelli Choopulu' director Tharun Bhascker said that Siddharth is the Kamal Haasan of the present generation in terms of trying to always do refreshing movies.

The film's director attributed Takkar's Telugu release to Siddharth, heroine Divyansha Kaushik of 'Majili' fame, and the love showered by the Telugu audience on the movies of Shankar since the 1990s. Shankar is the young director's guru.

The heroine said that, for about 10 years in the US, she viewed movies only on DVD. The day she watched 'Bommarillu' in a theatre was the day when her viewing habit changed. Since then, she has watched important movies only in theatres.

Producer Abhishek Agarwal described 'Takkar' as a big-scale movie with a new-age love story He thanked the team of the movie for bringing out an out-and-out commercial film. The 'Kartikeya 2' producer also assured the audience of bringing out half a dozen movies. The Abhishek Agarwal Arts supremo also thanked Late D Ramanaidu, besides invoking Suresh Babu and Victory Venkatesh in his speech. Although he is a North Indian, he sees himself as a Telugu person owing to his interest in Telugu cinema and literature.

Co-starring Abhimanyu Singh, Yogi Babu, Munishkanth and RJ Vigneshkanth, the film is helmed by Karthik G Krish, who casts the 'Bommarillu' actor in a grey part.
