Chilkur Balaji Temple's head priest finds fault with Kriti Sanon, Om Raut

On Tuesday, the pre-release event of 'Adipurush' was preceded by a Tirumala temple visit by the core team. Prabhas was accompanied by his co-star Kriti Sanon and director Om Raut. After the darshan, Raut wanted to bid farewell to Kriti. In doing so, he came close to her and gave a Western-style peck. Many Indians see such a thing in a romantic context, although Raut didn't intend anything of that sort. Regardless of Raut's intentions, his behaviour at the holy place has been deemed highly inappropriate by many.

After the video went viral, Chilkur Balaji Temple's head priest S Rangarajan reacted sharply. "The behaviour is totally uncalled for. Even a married couple are supposed not to harbour certain thoughts in holy places. It is therefore unacceptable that they did what they did," Rangarajan said.

He also opined that Kriti is ineligible for essaying Goddess Sita.

The film will hit the cinemas on June 16.
