'Ukku Satyagraham', starring Satya Reddy in the lead, is produced and directed by him. Set in the backdrop of the Vizag Steel Plant, the film features a song written and rendered by balladeer Gaddar.
The news is that the film will head to theatres on November 29 on 300 screens.
With lyrics written also by Goreti Venkanna and Suddala Ashok Teja, the film is revolutionary. "It was very difficult to make films related to revolution during a certain period. Despite Censor-related hurdles, we are bringing out 'Uku Satyagraham' with determination. We are motivated by the resolve to highlight the Visakha steel plant issue. Its privatization must be prevented. As the slogan goes, Visakha Ukku Andhrula Hakku," the director said.
The film is going to bring to light many issues that are not known to the public. The conspiracy that was hatched to rob Kurnool of its capital city status after the separation of Andhra from Madras is one such issue. "What happened behind the curtains when Indira Gandhi thought that a steel plant should be put in Madras? Story-writer Gaddar anna has brought out a lot to light. He wrote four songs in this film and acted in some key scenes," the director added.
