Director Atlee has worked thrice with Thalapathy Vijay and once with Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan. But his best story seems to be for a Telugu hero.
If the announcement video of Allu Arjun's 22nd movie is anything to go by, Atlee is out to wow the international audience. In the video, some of the most talented technicians from the US are heard describing the story of AA22 in superlative terms. They are blown away by the narration.
Technicians from America are not known to give silly soundbytes. They don't have to flatter Indian producers, actors and filmmakers. Moreover, sycophancy is not their kind of trait. Hyperbole and exaggeration come naturally to Indian celebs but not to Westerners, who maintan some level of honesty. So, it would be safe to take the words of American technicians in the video at face value. If this holds, how come Atlee has reserved the best for a non-Tamil hero? Does he see more potential in Bunny than in Thalapathy Vijay? If yes, he is a smart guy. Bunny is indeed magnitudes better than Vijay in every single respect.
And if the testimonies in the video are even half-true, Atlee has prepared a cracker of a story for Allu Arjun. The only caveat is this: Atlee might have narrated only the best (mass) moments to the VFX artists/teams. The full script might not be that great.
