Su From So (Kannada), the satirical comedy-drama film written and directed by JP Thuminad, was recently released in Telugu. The curiously titled movie features a talented cast, including Shaneel Gautham, Thuminad, Prakash Thuminad, Deepak Rai Panaje, Mime Ramadas, and Sandhya Arekere. The film is also notable for being produced by popular actor-director Raj B Shetty, the emerging face of Sandalwood's new-age cinema.
While it was released in Telugu on August 8, it took nearly two weeks for it to find its audience. As per a trade report, over the August 23-24 weekend, Su From So picked pace in many centres across the Telugu States.
The film couldn't realize its potential early on because of the intense challenge posed by Coolie and War 2. Once these big-ticket movies made way and small films like Paradha failed to register even decent openings, Su From So's appeal got off.
After Mahavatar Narsimha, Su From So is yet another Sandalwood product to do well in Telugu. It was released by Mythri Movie Makers.
The next Telugu-dubbed film that is billed to do well in the Telugu States is Kotha Lokah, to be released on August 28 by Sithara Entertainments. The film is dubbed from Malayalam.
