ZEE5 is bringing a festive treat to Telugu and Kannada audiences this Vinayaka Chavithi with the release of the recent Tamil superhit film, Maaman. After its success in Tamil, the acclaimed family drama is now available in Telugu and Kannada versions, premiering from today (August 27).

Directed by Prashanth Pandiyaraj, Maaman stars a talented cast, including Soori and Aishwarya Lekshmi in the lead roles. The film explores the intricate dynamics of a family, centering on Inba (Soori), who has a deep and loving bond with his nephew, Laddu. The story takes a dramatic turn when Inba's new marriage to Rekha (Aishwarya Lekshmi) is tested by tensions created by the young boy. The rest of the film follows Inba’s journey to navigate these challenges and mend his relationship with his wife.

The film is noted for its promising ideas and an emotionally rich midpoint. The core conflict, centering on an over-doting uncle and his nephew causing friction with the uncle's new wife, was seen as a solid starting point for a family drama by film critics.

Aishwarya Lekshmi's performance was lauded by critics. She is known for Ponniyin Selvan.

The story was written by lead actor Soori, with the screenplay crafted by director Prashanth Pandiyaraj. Produced by K. Kumar under Sri Kumaran Films, Maaman features soulful music by Hesham Abdul Wahab of HI Nanna fame.
