SJ Suryah is rumoured to be under consideration for the antagonist role in Jailer 2, the sequel to Jailer. If the gossip is true, Suryah will lock horns with Superstar Rajinikanth, a golden opportunity for any actor.
Director Shankar failed him by squandering away his acting talent in both Indian 2 and Game Changer. In Kamal Haasan's movie, Suryah played 'Sakalakala Vallavan' Sarguna Pandiyan. He hammed his way through the film. Ram Charan's movie had him in an unimpactful part, although the scene where he indulges in a high-pitched argument with Charan's character has been meme-worthy lately.
SJ Suryah's true potential was on display in the recent Saripodhaa Sanivaaram, Jigarthanda DoubleX and Mark Antony. Jailer 2 will be the biggest opportunity for him by any reckoning.
Jailer 2 was made official last month. Kalanithi Maran’s Sun Pictures is bankrolling it on a massive scale since the first part grossed nearly Rs 600 Cr. The first part had powerful cameos by Shiva Rajkumar and Mohanlal.
