Decoding Ram Charan's behaviour after Game Changer release

Game Changer was considered an ill-fated film right after the earliest shows on January 10. After a decent start, its collections fell drastically on Day 1. Daaku Maharaaj and Sankranthiki Vasthunam are giving it a run for its money.

Curiously, Ram Charan has issued a statement thanking director Shankar, his fans, and the audience in general. This could have been seen as a mere formality had some other things not transpired after January 10.

Sri Venkateswara Creations claimed that Day 1 collections were Rs 186 Cr (Gross). The actual figure is said to be Rs 85 Cr or thereabouts. By inflating collections by one billion rupees, the film was ridiculed on social media even more.

While the makers of the film didn't make any tall claims later on, Ram Charan's loyalists claimed that the movie had grossed Rs 270 Cr by the end of its Day 2. A senior Mega fan, who has been a Chiranjeevi loyalist, shared a picture of himself personally congratulating Ram Charan on the film amassing shattering collections. This particular pic featuring Ram Charan became the butt of ridicule among fan bases who tend to troll Mega heroes.

Had Ram Charan wanted, he could have asked his loyalists to withdraw or not release the Day 2 poster. He could have avoided the ChatGPT-written social media post on Sankranthi day thanking the audience. He didn't do it because there is a section of the audience that is not aware of how big a dud Game Changer is. For these people, what they receive on WhatsApp (the ridiculous Day 2 poster, for example) is valid news. This perception management is what celebrities look at. Celebrities don't hope to fool the well-informed.
