Trailer for Avatar: Fire and Ash draws negative feedback, too

The trailer for Avatar: Fire and Ash has recently been released, and while it has generated a lot of excitement for its visual spectacle and the introduction of new elements, there have been some critical and negative views expressed by both media outlets and netizens.

Some netizens, despite acknowledging the impressive visuals, felt that the trailer didn't offer enough to differentiate it significantly from previous installments. Comments like "Director James Cameron has lost his edge. This looks kind of mid, much like the second sequel. Loved the first Avatar though" indicate a desire for more groundbreaking narrative elements beyond just visual upgrades.

"Avatar was a good movie. Avatar 2 was not a good movie because it took the same tropes and themes from Avatar and was pretty much the same movie. Avatar 3 looks like more of the same. I’ll probably not watch it in theaters if at all," a netizen wrote.

The expectation from the movie's romantic quotient is high, though. "I will always take the opportunity to remind everyone that James Cameron holds multiple top spots in box office because he leans into epic, melodramatic romance. Something most directors are scared of," an X user commented.

The release date of Avatar: Fire and Ash is December 19.
