Actress Nithya Menen has consistently denied marriage rumors and stated that she is not under familial pressure to get married. While in Hyderabad on Tuesday to promote an upcoming movie of hers, the Ala Modalaindi actress expressed mild annoyance at being quizzed about her marriage plans time and again.
"What is this 'pelli gola'? Why does everyone keep asking me about this?" Nithya exclaimed, breaking into a laugh.
She revealed that her co-star, Vijay Sethupathi, had been trying to convince her to get married during the making of their latest Tamil movie.
Nithya Menen has lately realized that marriage is not a necessity for everyone and that a fulfilling life can exist outside of conventional romantic relationships.
Bheemla Nayak and Skylab are among Nithya Menen's recent Telugu movies. "Since I am doing films in a lot of languages, there has been a gap in Telugu. Actors are not factories that can produce movies like machines. A true actor/filmmaker doesn't manufacture films. It's a creative process. As an actor, I need breathing space. I never knew that I would become an actor. Before I knew, I worked continuously for six years. I was exhausted. I was not that happy. So, I paused and reflected. It was a rejuvenation for me during the lockdown. The whole world was doing nothing during the lockdown. Many people started saying that I had stopped movies (laughs). I like to be idle and reflect thoughtfully," she said in an interview in 2021.
