The pre-release event of Subham was held on Sunday in Vizag. The horror-comedy will hit the cinemas on May 9.

Speaking on the occasion, producer Samantha Ruth Prabhu said that she received a warm welcome from Vizagites when she stepped into the town after the release of Ye Maya Chesave in 2010. "That's when I felt the true love of people," Samantha said. She added that, as a producer, she seeks to platform fresh stories. "Subham is worth watching in theatres with your families on May 9. You will leave the hall with a smile on your face. That's my promise. Subham might come across as a horror-comedy but the film becomes something else by the end of its run-time. I am nothing without my fans. Thank you for never giving up on me," Samantha added.

Director Praveen Kandregula said, "I am certain that nobody has made a film of this sort in Telugu before. This is a one-of-a-kind horror-comedy. By the end of it, you will also shed a tear. Samantha has provided her brand to this film, just as Nani lent his brand to Court. Cinema Bandi was my first movie. That project happened to me when I almost gave up on my cinema dreams. Cinema thrives because of writers. I am grateful to my writer, Vasanth. He is in for the long haul. Most of the artists who have worked on Subham are new but none of them feel like they are upstarts. Each one of them is spontaneous and thinks like a writer. I only provided a playground for them to play their games."

Actor Harshith Reddy said, "When director Praveen gave the narration, I was in splits for two straight hours. Usually, horror-comedies are illogical and random. But Subham is different. It has an emotional core and has a lovely story as well. Praveen has pulled off magic in bringing the story to life. His execution ensured that the scenes turned out to be many times more comical than what was written on paper. Every artist in Subham was chosen by the script. Vivek Sagar's BGM is so enjoyable. The second half, especially, is going to be a blast."

Actress Shriya Kontham said, "Please watch our movie with your families. It's going to be crazy."

Actor Charan Peri said, "Samantha ma'am is a passionate person. She is an inspiration. When I watched Cinema Bandi, I became a fan of Praveen. I got to work with him! Subham is a communal experience that is best watched in a theatre."

Writer Vasanth Maringanti said, "Praveen and I started out our careers at the same time. He is child-like and is extremely egoless and passionate. He is a cool guy. Raj Nidumoru, my guru, has been like Subham's backbone. He gave invaluable inputs. This story needed excellent artists. And we got them on board somehow. A TV serial forms the backdrop of Subham. For many people, TV serials are a companion. That's why I don't demean them."
