Mumbai-based actress Surveen Chawla has revealed that she was asked to put on weight when she tried to make her acting debut in a southern Indian film. She was told that being thin and slim won't help "because you won’t have bosoms". Someone used dirty language in saying so. "Kuch hilega nahi (Nothing will jiggle), nothing will bounce," Surveen quoted the person as saying. Surveen added that such demands continue to be made on female actors down south, although the language has become sophisticated lately.
Her "appearance, weight and waist size, chest size" were questioned in Mumbai when she tried to transition from TV to cinema. Surveen also shared a casting couch experience in the interview.
Surveen Chawla's most famous web series is Rana Naidu. Hate Story 2 (2014), Ugly (2013), Parched (2015), Dharti (2011), Disco Singh (2014), Hero Naam Yaad Rakhi (2015), and special appearances in songs like Dhoka Dhoka from Himmatwala and Tutti Bole Wedding Di from Welcome Back are her Bollywood assignments so far.
