Pournami will be re-released in theatres on October 23 on the occasion of actor Prabhas' birthday. The 2006 Telugu-language action-drama musical film, starring also Trisha and Charmme, was directed by Prabhu Deva. "The film blends themes of traditional culture, dance, romance, and revenge, supported by a popular music score by Devi Sri Prasad, and culminates with Chandrakala successfully completing the dance, bringing rain to the village and continuing her family's legacy," the makers said.
The big-budget movie was produced by MS Raju. It was shot over 180-190 working days. "The film was shot at key historical locations such as the Virupaksha Temple, elephant stables, and Stepwell in Hampi, adding an authentic period aesthetic to the film," the film's Wikipedia page notes.
A week after Pournami's re-release, Baahubali: The Epic will be released in theatres. The October 31st release will be significant in terms of its importance to setting a new trend among single-film remastered versions.
