Vishnu Manchu recently added the role of producer to his many talents. This multi-talented actor, who started off his acting career with action oriented films, earned good craze with ‘Dhee’. This film proved his ability as an actor and his recent films ‘Dhenikaina Ready’ and ‘Doosukelta’ have extended his talent and charm. Vishnu, who understood the audience’s pulse, feels that one should not risk in attempting a subject which is not their cup of tea. According to him, success will not come freely. One has to bare the responsibility to achieve his/her ultimate goal. On the eve of his birthday on Saturday, the rising star had a small chit-chat with the media. Check it out!
What’s the specialty of this birthday?
I wish to hear ‘Happy Birthday Daddy’ from my daughters Ariana and Viviana as they have just started talking. It’s a different feeling you know. I’m longing to hear that from them.
So how is ‘Pandavulu Pandavulu Thummeda’ going to be?
I’m sure it’s going to create a festive atmosphere on the screen. The movie is full of entertainment. We are planning to bring it to the audience for this Sankranti. Working with my dad and my brother in this film gave me immense pleasure. Altogether it’s an unforgettable experience. I’m very glad to be part of this film.
You seem to have specialized in a particular genre. So are you going to continue in the same path?
I’ve made the audience laugh in ‘Denikaina Ready’ and ‘Dhoosukelta’ and I’m very happy to get back to back hits. At the same time I’m little scared now as I feel that my responsibility has grown. I’ve understood the kind of subjects that suit my personality. So I’m being very careful in choosing the stories now. Even though I like to try differently, I’ll make sure that I’ll select the story that suits my body language only.
How do you define success?
Being recognized for what you do and enjoying the career you have. I’ll shortly prove with my filmmaking that a successful film does not need a huge budget, instead can be made with a good idea and good story. I’ll let you know the details shortly.
Are you going to go into directing and may be write your own movie in the future?
No, I’ve no plans for direction now. But I’ll definitely act in the film under my sister Lakshmi’s direction if I like the character offered to me. One needs to have a lot of knowledge to direct a film. So I do not want to try and experiment anything little knowledge.
How true is it that you are planning to team up with Puri Jagannadh to do the remake of ‘Assembly Rowdy’?
It’s true that I’m going to do a film under Puri Jagannadh’s direction, but it’s definitely not the remake of ‘Assembly Rowdy’. Puri has prepared a script of his own and I’m very much impressed by it. Regarding the remake of ‘Assembly Rowdy’, I’ve no such plans now, but I’ll definitely do in the future.

Yes, I watch YouTube a lot because I feel that we can chase the young talent only there.
Is there any chance to take ‘Ravana’ on sets in near future?
‘Ravana’ will begin shortly. That’s my dream project. So we need to make it big. Hence it’s taking time. ‘Ravana’ will certainly make us feel proud of it.
After ‘Pandavulu Pandavulu Thummeda’, what is your next project that we can look forward to?
Henceforth I’m planning to do make films in a row on my banner 24 Frames Factory. I’m even sketching plan to make 2-3 films in a year. In this process I’m producing a film with Manoj as hero and G Nageswara Reddy as director. Besides that, I’ve plans to do a film with Ram Gopal Varma. He said that he liked my comedy timing and wanted to do a film with me. That’s really going to be a special film for me.
