Nidhhi Agerwal of 'iSmart Shankar' fame has played the heroine in 'Hero', which will be released in theatres on January 15. In this interview, Nidhhi talks about working with newcomer Ashok Galla, director Sriram Adittya, the kind of film 'Hero' is, and more.

Director Sriram Adittya sir called me for a narration. 'Hero' is both commercial and different at the same time. It's not a routine story with typical hero vs villain scenes. There are shades of dark comedy. The situations are inherently funny. The characters played by actors like Jagapathi Babu sir and Naresh sir are refreshing. The songs are commercial but the story is offbeat.

Ashok is a newcomer and yet he came in prepared right from the first day. He has technical knowledge as well. He made me feel comfortable. Since it is his first film, I made him feel comfortable to the extent possible.

I don't want to do only big-star movies. I want to do everything. I didn't want to miss the kind of character I got to do in 'Hero'. I have played a doctor. Jagapathi Babu sir has played by father. Throughout the story, I have interesting scenes with him and the hero. It's a situational comedy and a family entertainer as well.

It's an out-and-out Sankranthi film. There is a surprise package as well in the form of a song. There is a retro song that is a medley. It's a short and crisp movie.

It's after signing up 'Hero' that I received Pawan Kalyan sir's 'Hari Hara Veera Mallu'. It doesn't matter if you are acting with a newcomer or an established actor. If they have confidence in an actor, they are going to cast you.

I am comfortable the most with Tollywood. After all, I was born in Hyderabad. The Telugu audience are loving.

I am a business student and I come from a family of businessmen. I will set up some business in the future. I am also planning to form a charity organization.

I have no problem with being glamorous. I am doing a film in Tamil. I am not at all glamorous in it. I won't be seen with makeup in it. It all depends on the director. Some director in Tollywood might cast me in an offbeat role.

I want to do an action-driven role. I am trained to do stunts, actually.

I want to act with Pawan Kalyan sir again. The first half of 'Hari Hara Veera Mallu' has been completed. I am playing my career's best role ever. My biggest film and my best role are the same film! It's a full-on period film in which the looks will be more than one. There are many positive things that I have observed while working with Pawan sir. I can't reveal much about it now.

I don't think you can learn acting. You can't completely know everything. The best way to learn acting is to act under different directors. I watch a lot of movies/OTT content. I watch them carefully and try to understand the characterizations. It's a very mental process.

I am an active social media user. Even before I became an actor, I had 1 million followers on Instagram. Definitely, SM helps your career. It's like a PR thing. But my intention is not to capitalize on my reach.

I am yet to find my dream man. I expect my man who respects me!

I am in talks for projects in Telugu and Hindi. I have a film coming up opposite Udayanidhi Stalin in Tamil. I haven't signed up for any web series. I haven't received OTT offers so far, but I am open for OTT.

I am fitness-oriented but I am not into heavy weightlifting and all. I am conscious about following healthy food habits.
