'Ambajipeta Marriage Band', produced by GA2 Pictures and director Venkatesh Maha's Mahayana Motion Pictures, is coming also under the banner of Dheeraj Mogilineni Entertainment. The film will hit the cinemas on February 2. In this interview, producer Dheeraj Mogilineni of 'Dorasani', 'ABCD', 'Urvashivo Rakshasivo' and 'Baby' fame says that some incidents in the film happened in real life. "The film stays true to the cinematic values of Geetha Arts. While being realistic, 'AMB' didn't compromise on casting choices," he adds.

The story is based on four important incidents that the director observed in real life. His realistic narration came up with a tight dialogue version. The casting, the choice of locations and other aspects were designed to keep the execution flawless.

We have referred to the dominant caste as the 'upper caste' and the oppressed caste as the 'lower caste'. No names have been given to the castes as such. The male lead is a barber by profession. The film doesn't carry any radical social message as such. The story is true to life. It tells the story as it happened. 'AMB' is not controversial. There are no dialogues that generalize the social situation emanating from the caste system. The conflict is between two sets of individuals and not two groups.

When the title was announced, everyone presumed that our film was a comedy entertainer. When the first look and songs were released, people thought it was a rom-com. The trailer has undermined the presumptions.

Suhas worked on the movie for an extended period of more than one year. When he tonsured his head for this film, he was a busy artist. Yet, he didn't think twice before getting his head tonsured. Saranya Pradeep plays Suhas' sister. The core plot revolves around her character. She plays a school teacher.

Heroine Shivani was chosen for a friend's character. During the audition, we were impressed with her and roped her in for the female lead role. Sekhar Chandra's music met our expectations. The background score is in sync with the expectations we had. Director Dushyanth's writing stays true to nativity. Usually, there is a certain level of contrast between narration and execution. But 'AMB' is an exception. Venkatesh Maha is a presenter. The voice of the film is that of the director exclusively.

We had a certain figure in mind for the budget. By the end, it ended up to be 2x.

We are doing a film with Rashmika Mandanna in the lead. 'The Girlfriend' is its title. About 40% of the shoot is over. Three other projects are in the pipeline.
