'Pressure Cooker', starring Sai Ronak of Preethi Asrani ('Malli Raava' fame) in the leads and directed by Sujoi & Sushil, has been released. Read our review

Kishore(Sai Ronak) is a tech-savvy graduate, who believes in the concept of 'Make In India'. But he wants to go to the US because it is his father's dream. He gets rejected multiple times during Visa interviews and during a desperate attempt to land in the US by hook or by crook, he lands in a trouble. Meanwhile, he falls in love with a girl named Anitha (Preethi), who doesn't like marrying an NRI. Will Kishore ever fulfill his father's dream? What about his love story?

Sai Ronak gives a decent performance and does justice to his role. Preethi Asrani of 'Malli Raava' fame, looks beautiful and she performs fairly well in a role that has not much scope for performance. Both of them can have a good career in Tollywood, given they select the right scripts. Tanikella Bharani gets an important role and he does a good job. But his character arc is inconsistent. Rahul Ramakrishna is funny in few scenes. Rajai Rowan and others are okay.

Technical aspects

Music and background score are okay. So is the cinematography. The screenplay is not so engaging.

Plus Points

Few funny scenes
A couple of emotional scenes

Minus Points

Routine story

'Pressure Cooker' has some funny moments and a couple of emotional scenes. But it has an age-old story and even the way it is narrated is not engaging. We have seen many movies, which showcased NRIs as insensitive, indifferent people, who value dollars over relationships and emotions in the last few years. The story reminds us of many such films. Interestingly, 'Pressure Cooker' is made by NRIs.

All in all, 'Pressure Cooker' is a routine entertainer with few good moments.
