Director Prabhakar Jaini, who presented the pain of surrogate mothers through the film ‘Amma Neeku Vandanam’, is coming up with another film titled ‘Ampasayya’ with Vjayalakshmi as producer. Few decades ago, a famous writer Ampasayya, who put the novel name as his sir name, has penned a story and it is really an adventurous thing that the story is being carved out as a film. Now, ‘Ampasayya’ was filmed at Osmania University. Jaini Creations and Om Namo Bhagavathe Vasudevaya Films are jointly producing the film that features Shyam Kumar and Pavani as hero and heroine respectively. Presently post-production works are going on.

Briefing about the film’s details, director Prabhakar Jaini said, “In 1960 to 1970, Ravi, who hails from a village in Telangana, will do MA in Osmania University. When his exams are nearing, his experiences in one day right from morning to evening, taught him his responsibilities. They filled courage to fight with the life. The aforementioned elements are the concept of the film.

Central literature Academy award winner Sri Naveen garu has penned this novel ‘Ampasayya’. I kept my heart and soul to present it as a film. All artists who worked for the film are new to acting. We have made this film based on a great novel. ‘Ampasayya’ was published in 1970s and it had created sensation. Several filmmakers tried to make that novel as a film, but didn’t come true. I did my best to make this as a film. I know that it’s not a simple thing. The novel contains only emotional conflicts, but no real situations. We have to create such situations and run the story. This attempt took lot of time. The hunt for the artists became the toughest task for us. Because the hero must have the courage to portray the role. We did auditions for several guys and finally we felt that Shyam Kumar from Vizag is perfectly apt to that role and zeroed him. Ratti is a very crucial role. The character has several shades and she loves the hero very much. She showed her contempt for cast feelings. Finally she turned to prostitute because of timid hero. We roped in Pavani to do that powerful role. He received appreciations for her acting from our unit members. Akella raghavendra garu has played an effective role wonderfully. His character motivates hero when he was in depressed mood. My wife Vijayalakshmi Jaini played hero’s mother. She has given excellent performance. ‘Ampasayya’ has been made as a periodic film.”

To get permission to shoot the film in Osmania University became big task for us. The film has only one song and that too montage song. The film was shot in Narsapur Forests, Warangal Ramappa temple and Osmania University. Telangana People’s artist Kinnerametla Mogilayya, who trains on building confidence for IAS students, Swathi Naidu, Yogi Diwan, Valmiki, Monika Thompson and few of theatre arts students, my wife and I have played important roles in the film. Presently, post-production works are going on.”
