Short film ‘Laddu’ screened at Prapancha Telugu Mahasabhalu

Love and youthful subjects are trending off late in short films. Young talent Ommkaram Sashidhar, In contrast to the present trend, has carved out a marvellous love story ‘Laddu’ in an innovative way which deals with the love of an elderly man. He has given prominence to human relations and family values. Actor Ravi Varma, who carved a special image for himself on both silver screen and small screen, played the lead role in the film. This young director Sashidhar, who hails from Kakinada, has produced the film last year under his own direction. Sashidhar, who already won Nandi award for the film ‘Omkaram’, has bagged 24 awards in different categories at few international and national levels for the short film ‘Laddu’ with a tagline ‘A Sweet Memory’. The short film has won awards like TANA Telugu International Film Awards, Virgin Spring International Cinefest, International Cult Film Fest Kolkata and Varun Bajaj Short Film Awards. The film is contesting for Nandi Awards and International Film Festival also. It has gained Best Script Award at 9 Film Fest which was held in Bangkok on December 18.

Love and affection from the fellow beings will give the confidence and inspire us to overcome any thing - This is what ‘Laddu’ deals with. The film is showcased at Prapancha Telugu Mahasabhalu 2017, in Hyderabad. Even though, this event is specific to Telangana language, culture and traditions, the management has kept aside the rules and the jury has permitted to screen this film as the film ‘Laddu’ deals with the human relations and family values and the screening of the film stood as special attraction at this event.

Sashidhar felt proud and expressed immense pleasure for screening his short film at this prestigious event. He added that this will stand out as the most memorable moment in his life.
