Why has Rashmika opted out of 'Jersey'?

We have already reported that Nani's emotional sports-drama, 'Jersey', is all set to be remade in Hindi with Shahid Kapoor in the lead. Producers Allu Aravind, Dil Raju and Aman Gill wanted to rope in Rashmika Mandanna for the female lead's role.

But the 'Geetha Govindam' actress has opted out of the project and Mrunal Thakur is set to sign the dotted line. Why has Rashmika walked out of the project though the producers insisted? As per some sources, Rashmika has demanded a hefty remuneration for this remake and the producers were not ready to pay it as they are already going to pay 30 percent of the profits to Shahid Kapoor. Some say that Rashmika's decision to not do the film is simply because she couldn't accommodate the dates.

Gowtham Tinnanuri, who directed the original, 'Jersey', will helm the Hindi remake as well. This film will start rolling next month.
