Recently, a film personality said that a separate Movie Artists Association will be founded in Andhra Pradesh. Director Dileep Raja, who is a founder of MAA-AP, has reminded everyone that there already exists an Association in AP.

"After the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh, a separate MAA was formed in the State. It's shocking that someone doesn't know this basic fact. The brouhaha is a storm in the teacup. Our union has been approved by the Government of AP," Raja stated.

"Not only are there cine artists in the union, there are 500 people in total from the TV industry as well. We have restricted our activities to the 13 districts of AP," he added.

"We are not against the MAA headquartered in Hyderabad. We are all a family. We wouldn't have formed another MAA had the State not been divided," he clarified.

"I request a lot of elders such as Chiranjeevi garu and Balakrishna garu to make the MAA elections a unanimous affair. It pains me to see that controversies get generated at the time of MAA elections. If we are united, it will strengthen the film industry. Chiranjeevi garu has been showing his magnanimity of late. I pray to him and others with folded hands to step the divisions in the MAA by working towards a unanimous election of the President and EC," he noted.

He iterated that MAA already exists in AP and has existed since N Chandrababu Naidu's regime.
