Paidi Jairaj was a first-generation Bollywood star who left an indelible mark. He was from Telangana. On September 28, his 112th Jayanti was held.

Speaking on the occasion, Telangana Cinematography Minister Srinivas Goud said, "Back in those days, when everyone went to Madras to find cine opportunities, Jairaj went to Bombay. He went on to win the Dadasaheb Phalke Award. It's a great thing that such a man was from our State. Actors don't have regional differences. As urged by Jaihind Goud, we need to put up his statue at the Film Nagar in Hyderabad."

Actor Jaihind Goud said, "Jairaj garu was a great actor. I have been hosting his Jayanti since 2010 every year. He was one of the most critically acclaimed silent-era actors of the pre-Independence era. There is a need to celebrate his Jayanti every year in a bigger way. I urge the Hon'ble Minister to please install a statue of his either in the premises of Film Chamber or at Film Nagar."

Director Kankanala Srinivas Reddy praised Jairaj's contributions. Priyanka, the heroine of 'Deyyalunnaya', was also present on the occasion.
