Sai Dharam Tej's first pan-India film 'Virupaksha' has locked its release date. Debutant director Karthik Dandu is wielding the megaphone and the mystical thriller will head to the theatres on April 21 next year.

To be released in all major South Indian languages and Hindi, the film's title reveal was made today. Powered by Jr NTR's voice-over, 'Virupaksha' seems to be about the subtext of what is at the root of religion in intellectual discourse. Intellectuals say fear is what puts men on the path of religion.

Those who have the experience of the supernatural and mystical don't agree with the sociological view of religion. Sai Dharam Tej's character seems to represent them.

Incidentally, 'Kantara' composer Ajaneesh Loknath is the film's music director. Sukumar wrote the film's screenplay in 2020 or so. Shamdat and Srinagendra Tangala are working on the cinematography and production design departments.
