'Sita Ramam' Trailer: A love story spanning decades!

'Sita Ramam' is scheduled to hit the cinemas on August 5. Today, its trailer was launched.

Two aspects are striking: The film is set in two time periods, the 1960s and '80s. In the latter, Rashmika Mandanna's character goes searching for Sita Mahalakshmi (Mrunal Thakur), whom Lieutenant Ram (Dulquer Salmaan) loved in the '60s. Another striking feature is that the 'Pushpa' actress seems to have a full-fledged role (albeit not in terms of the screentime) in the movie.

Director Hanu Raghavapudi has made the film for a Telugu-Tamil-Hindi-Malayalam release. In a recent interview, he said, "'Sita Ramam' is more than a love story. It's a larger-than-life story. No character is small in the movie." By larger-than-life, he means action blocks and an intangible war taking place between and within characters.

Produced by Vyjayanthi Movies' Aswini Dutt, the expensive film also features Sumanth, Gautam Menon, Prakash Raj, Tharun Bhascker, Shatru, Bhumika Chawla, Rukmini Vijay Kumar, Sachin Khedekar, Murali Sharma and Vennela Kishore.
