LOL! Mahesh Babu's film as referendum on Jagan?!

The not-so-overwhelming box-office performance of 'Sarkaru Vaari Paata' has been described as a referendum on the YS Jaganmohan Reddy government by a section of the media. Reasons are two in number.

Reason No. 1: Mahesh Babu says 'Nenu vinnanu, nenu unnanu' in a jovial scene. The phrase is Jagan's political slogan.

Reason No. 2: Director Parasuram Petla openly stated that he is a fan of YS Rajasekhar Reddy.

'SVP' not becoming a hit (as per some reports, its collections after the first weekend went south to a great degree) has been attributed to Jagan's dwindling popularity. This line of thinking is laughable. Mahesh uses the phrase in a comedy scene that has no serious political context for the anti-incumbent populace to dislike 'SVP'. And Parasuram saying that he is a YSR fan is a fact not many even know of. Who is Parasuram? Is he a Rajamouli for people to take his every utterance seriously?

'SVP' has done even worse in Telangana than in Andhra Pradesh after the first weekend. Is this failure also attributable to the audience's anger at the film promoting Jagan?
