Scene from Ravi Teja's movie deployed to degrade Telugu heroes

'Jailer' has grossed Rs 400 Cr at the box office. 'Bholaa Shankar', which was released a day before Rajinikanth's movie, is a super flop. The contrasting performance between the Tamil movie and the Telugu movie has given ammunition to motivated trolls to degrade Telugu heroes.

In Ravi Teja's 'Neninthe', Sayaji Shinde's character bemoans that the biggest problem with Telugu heroes is that they are lazy. "NTR, ANR, Krishna used to do multiple movies year after year. There are 10 big heroes. But they don't do even one movie per year," the character laments.

Are Telugu heroes really lazy? There is absolutely no evidence to say that our heroes are lazing around while Tamil heroes are super hardworking. Right from the 2000s, big stars started doing only one movie per year in Telugu. Not even one of them has thought of doing 3-5 movies like Superstar Krishna used to in his heyday. All of them can't be lazy.

Tamil superstars don't do multiple movies every year either. Vijay, Ajith, Rajinikanth and others have done one movie per year hardly in the past one decade or so. Earlier, Vijay used to do many movies but most of them were pretty ordinary movies in terms of visuals and production values. If we want Mahesh Babu or Prabhas to do three movies per year, we should be ready to accept Mollywood-level production values.

The scene from 'Neninthe' has been shared by verified pro-Kollywood handles on Twitter. There is clearly an attempt to degrade Telugu heroes at a time when Tollywood's stature has been on the rise nationwide.
