Guru Films of 'Oh Baby' and 'Saakini Daakini' fame is all set to remake 'The Good Doctor', the acclaimed American medical drama television series. The series itself is based on a 2013 South Korean series.

"Guru Films is thrilled to announce the acquisition of Indian remake rights of the most engaging and intriguing medical drama. The plot revolves around a surgical resident who is autistic and has Savant Syndrome. We at Guru are all geared up to adapt it! (sic)," the production house today said.

The series is about a young autistic surgeon who comes with a troubled past. "Savant syndrome is a rare condition in which someone with significant mental disabilities demonstrates certain abilities far in excess of average," says a Wikipedia entry.

Only recently, Guru Films acquire the remake rights to the Korean thriller 'He Is Psychometric', which tells the story of a young man who discovers Psychometric powers after a fateful accident. It will be a pan-Indian project.
