'Tiger Nageswara Rao' Trailer: Heroic but also generic

Hankering after power, lust, greed for money. These are described as the worst vices, not necessarily in that order. In the trailer for 'Tiger Nageswara Rao', the eponymous character gleefully indulges in precisely these negative habits.

Director Vamsee, who has made the film for the pan-Indian audience (read Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam languages), gives Ravi Teja his career's most colorfully and gloriously grey character. It is also believed that the 'Stuartpuram' Nageswara Rao's life has been fictionalized to the extent that he is going to be glorified beyond imagination. He was indefatigable and all but did he really take the battle to the Prime Minister's corridor? He was a master of disguises but was he mythical? It has to be seen how the film is going to justify all that.

Producer Abhishek Agarwal is serious about promoting the movie for the Hindi audience, which is why today's trailer launch event was held in Mumbai.

Srikanth Vissa's dialogue, R Madhie's cinematography and GV Prakash's background music lend a generic feel to the film. That's a minus. One hopes 'TNR' goes beyond the hackneyed vibe evident in the trailer.

Based on myths, rumours and facts surrounding Nageswara Rao, the film is going to head to theatres on October 20.
