Till the end of 2023, 'Kalki 2898 AD' was supposed to be one of the most-awaited Indian films of 2024. Cut to the first week of January, the Nag Ashwin directorial is out of the race this year!

The futuristic superhero-style film was first slated for a Sankranthi 2024 release. It was later moved to May this year. The new reality is that the mega international release won't be hitting the cinemas this year.

The new talk in the town is that the Prabhas-Deepika Padukone-Amitabh Bachchan-Kamal Haasan behemoth will be released in theatres in the year 2025. It is produced by Vyjayanathi Movies on an alleged budget of Rs 500 Cr.

A hint about 'Kalki' skipping 2024 has been thrown by Prabhas himself. In his latest interview, the 'Baahubali' actor said that his next film is a horror-comedy. This is a reference to Maruthi's film, whose first look will be out for Sankranthi. And this horror-comedy is at least six to eight months away from being released.

Prabhas is slated to do 'Salaar 2' with Prashanth Neel, 'Spirit' with Sandeep Reddy Vanga and a war drama with Hanu Raghavapudi in the coming years.
