'Citadel: Honey Bunny’, starring Varun Dhawan and Samantha Ruth Prabhu, has started streaming on Amazon Prime Video. How is the web series? What are the critics out there saying about it? In this section, we are going to pool in some opinions.
Scroll said that the web series is engrossing and pacy. "It is to the writers' credit that they have created a mostly coherent six-part show that, while keeping with the original’s topsy-turvy, MacGuffin-laden format, pauses for romance, emotions, family and much-needed humour," the review added.
The spy action television series received a positive review from India Today as well. "The world of 'Citadel: Honey Bunny' is not fancy like other spy dramas, and that's probably its biggest strength. And, oh, that little girl totally steals the show," the review opines, praising the performance by Samantha.
Filmfare gave a mixed review. "Ultimately, Citadel: Honey Bunny feels like a missed opportunity. Despite the potential for an exciting and original addition to the Citadel franchise, the series gets bogged down by tired spy tropes and a lack of an innovative narrative," the critic there opined.
Money Control felt the show is absolutely watchable. "Contrary to the OG Citadel, Honey Bunny is immensely bingeable and entirely engrossing, and keeps you engaged through its six-episode run," the portal said.
'Citadel: Honey Bunny’ has been created by the Raj-DK duo of 'The Family Man' fame.
