Producer Sharrath Marar of Sardaar Gabbar Singh and Katamarayudu fame last produced the 2022 movie, The Ghost. Directed by Praveen Sattaru, the Nagarjuna movie was a disaster. About three years later, he is planning to make a comeback.
Director Hemant Madhukar, known for his work on Anushka Shetty’s 2020 thriller Nishabdham, is gearing up to direct a movie under Marar's production house, North Star Entertainment. Nishabdham was a direct OTT release during the lockdown-induced pandemic in 2020. Its content was universally panned. It is nothing less than a gamble that the producer is teaming up with Hemant.
In 2023, Sharrath Marar made his presence felt on OTT. It is said that the horror series Dhootha, starring Naga Chaitanya in the lead, was made at a cost of Rs 40 Cr. The series was directed by Vikram K Kumar of Manam fame.
The new project of the Marar-Hemant duo is said to be a devotional thriller. After Kantara and HanuMan, the genre has gained a lot of currency.
