It is known that actor Vijay Deverakonda's 14th movie is directed by Shyam Singha Roy fame Rahul Sankrityan. Mythri Movie Makers has rolled out this period drama set in the British-India era. A pooja ceremony was held on the Republic Day to sound the bugle.
Producers Naveen Yerneni and Y Ravi Shankar have kicked off the untitled film's pre-production phase. In an update, they stated that they plan to commence the shoot soon. Less-known events that took place between 1854 and 1878 form the temporal context of the film.
The film will have historical underpinnings. "I am sure this film is going to be one of the most powerful films ever made on an unspoken aspect of India's colonial history," the director said. Rahul has previously made Taxiwala with VD.
VD14 appears to be one of the most audacious and gutsy projects in the career of Vijay Deverakonda. The actor is currently doing his 12th film, directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri of Jersey fame.
