The number of tickets sold by 'Baahubali 2' stood at 10 crore in number. For perspective, 'RRR' and 'KGF2' couldn't manage to sell even half the number of tickets that 'Baahubali 2' did. 'Sholay' (Hindi) sold a much higher number of tickets when it was released in the mid 1970s. The Amitabh Bachchan-Dharmendra movie sold 13 crore tickets over a period of two years. So, about four decades later, 'RRR' and 'KGF 2' was watched by a far lesser number of people although the adult population has grown significantly since then.

'Bobby' (Hindi), the 1973 movie starring Rishi Kapoor and Dimple Kapadia, had 5.35 crore footfalls in India alone. In the USSR, it was watched by nearly 65 lakh people. "Bobby was the highest-grossing Indian film of the year, netting Rs 11 crore in the domestic market on a budget of just Rs 1 crore," a recent Hindustan Time report stated. Adjusted to inflation, its collections stand at Rs 1,000 crore today.
