Kuberaa's success is a ray of hope for the film industry: Megastar Chiranjeevi

A special celebration was held on Sunday to celebrate the strong BO run of Kuberaa. Megastar Chiranjeevi, who attended the event as the chief guest, said that the event felt like his own film's success.

Speaking on the occasion, Chiru appreciated Nagarjuna for agreeing to do a movie led by another actor. The Waltair Veerayya actor suggested that he is inspired by Nag to follow in his path should something exciting come his way from an OTT platform.

Chiru added that only Dhanush could have played Deva, the beggar. "He is a one-of-a-kind, dedicated actor in India. I struggled to recognize him in his first scene in Kuberaa. He deserves a National Award for his performance in the movie. Sekhar Kammula has directed 10 movies, all of which are special. We only remember the characters in his movies; we don't feel like naming the actors when we are under their influence. We like to believe that those characters are living somewhere in this world even today. I saw (late) Soundarya in Rashmika Mandanna in this movie," Chiru said.

The Megastar added, "Producer Suniel Narang is taking forward the legacy of his father, Late Narayan Das Narang garu. Janhvi Narang is now following in the footsteps of her grandfather and father. I would like to team up with her in the future, provided she comes to me with a fun role! Devi Sri Prasad's stature has only been growing. With the Pushpa films, he has won appreciation from the pan-Indian audience. At a time when we started fearing if only violent films would work in theatres, Kuberaa has proved otherwise."

Nagarjuna said that Chiranjeevi is always there to support any film. "This is Sekhar Kammula's film and nobody's film. He has made a thriller with a humanitarian message. Only he could have done that. My recent comments have been misinterpreted. I didn't say that Kuberaa is MY film. This film is Kammula's film all the way. It's only after everyone started praising my performance that I realized that I gave the best shot! Dhanush's acting speaks for itself. He has won two Best Actor National Awards. What can I say about him?"

In his speech, Nag also mentioned writer Chaithanya Pingali, cinematographer Niketh Bommi and Rock Star DSP. He added that it is very rare that both audiences and review-writers agree that a film is superb. He jokingly described Rashmika as his latest crush.

Dhanush said that love has been showered on Kuberaa in a unanimous way. "This is Mahadev's film (referring to Lord Shiva). It's for days like this we put up with everything in our journey. I thank the audience for accepting me in the role (of a beggar). Every struggle we went through has faded out in the face of this immense success. You don't need an action spectacle and extreme violence to score a blockbuster. It's a myth. With Kuberaa, Sekhar Kammula sir has given hope to so many filmmakers. With just a heart, you can bring people to theatres. Emotion is the biggest grandeur that can be there. There is nothing greater than human emotions. Next-gen filmmakers shouldn't think just about VFX and mammoth sets. They should conceive human dramas like Kuberaa. In Tamil, recently, Tourist Family drew audiences to theatres. It was such a simple drama. My mother tells me to talk less when we achieve success. My father tells me to count my blessings. That's what I am doing today," Dhanush said.

Director Sekhar Kammula said that Dhanush's performance in his movie left him speechless. "People have asked me why I picked DSP. Who doesn't want to work with him? Not many know that we shot each and every scene twice - separately in Telugu and Tamil. Niketh Bommi is a very updated cinematographer. He knows the latest advancements in photography. It was Narayan Das Narang garu who first initiated this project. He is not with us today but I am sure he is watching us over. Writers Chaithanya Pingali and Soori made creative corrections whenever I was going wrong. I thank them for their contribution," Kammula said.
