Speaking at the Trailer launch event, Mohanlal said that the journey of ‘L2E: Empuraan’ has been an unforgettable experience. "Our journey to create such a pan-India film has been ongoing for seven years. Prithviraj has brilliantly crafted a grand film, which is a result of our sweat and blood," he added.

The actor, known for his nuanced portrayals, added, "We can make incredible films beyond imagination. This is the first-ever IMAX format movie from the Malayalam film industry. Seeing the response to the film is astonishing. There is magic in this movie."

Director Prithviraj Sukumaran sounded equally elated, saying that making the film involved arriving at decisions in complex situations. The making process itself was out of the ordinary. The second part didn't have much story except for a basic idea when Lucifer was turned into a trilogy. "Planning to make this just as a Malayalam film was challenging because the scale and canvas required for the story were extraordinary," he added. Initially, he didn't give himself even a 50% chance of L2E happening, but Mohanlal's excitement for the sequel changed the game.

Anil Thadani of AA Films, one of the top distributors in India, is ensuring that the release in Hindi is wide that the movie reaches even the international audience. In the Telugu States, the film will be released by Dil Raju's Sri Venkateswara Creations. In Karnataka, it will be distributed by KGF and Salaar fame Hombale Films. In Tamil Nadu, it will be released by Sri Gokulam Movies.

This is a trilogy, and ‘Lucifer’ was the first part (released in 2018). ‘L2E: Empuraan’ is coming on March 27, and one more film is yet to be made. "The film will speak for itself. We aimed to create a vast, ocean-like film, and that has been achieved with this," the director said. Suraj Venjaramoodu, Abhimanyu Singh, Jerome Flynn and Eriq Ebouaney have major roles.
