'Lal Salaam' is directed by Aishwarya Rajinikanth. With Vishnu Vishal and Vikranth in lead roles, its music is by AR Rahman. The film is produced by Lyca Productions. Superstar Rajinikanth featured in a special role in the movie. Released in theatres in February 2024, it was a mega disaster at the box office. Rajini's cameo couldn't save it from tanking.
The scale of the commercial failure was so huge that no OTT platform dared to acquire it all along. Finally, nearly 15 months after its theatrical release, it is all set to debut on OTT. Lal Salaam will debut on Sun NXT for Bakrid. So, the date could be June 6, most likely.
After the release of this movie, Lyca Productions scored flops with Shankar's 'Indian 2', 'Vettaiyan' and Ajith's 'Vidaamuyarchi'. It has also shelved 'Indian 3'.
Meanwhile, Rajinikanth awaits the theatrical release of Lokesh Kanagaraj's 'Coolie' on August 14.
