In keeping with the trend of grand movies inspired by Hindu Gods, director Chandoo Mondeti, known for his hit film Karthikeya, Karthikeya 2 and Thandel, has announced a new 3D animated movie titled Vayuputra. The ambitious film, a collaboration with Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinemas, is set to be a pan-Indian release.
It will be hitting the theaters for Dasara 2026 in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada.
The announcement was made by producer S Naga Vamsi, who described the project as "From the soul of our history, from the pages of our Itihasas, Comes the story of an Immortal Legend!" The makers have stated that Vayuputra aims to be more than just a film, but a "sacred spectacle".
Lord Hanuman has lately been at the forefront of Indian cinema. Prasanth Varma's HanuMan is a prime example. The yet-to-be-shot Jai Hanuman is another example. Vayuputra, however, is expected to be a technologically superior film, given its rare format. Inspired by the roaring success of Mahavatar Narsimha, producer S Naga Vamsi is at the forefront of leading the change in Tollywood.
The title poster of Vayuputra ensures grandeur without compromising on its divine quality. This is a project to be watched out for. The makers certainly have a strategy; they have set their sights on Dasara 2026.
Sithara Entertainments, besides Vayuputra, will also be doing a Lord Skanda-based movie with Jr NTR and Trivikram Srinivas. This is another divine movie with mythological references.
