Speaking at a press meet to celebrate the stupendous openings minted by Mirai, producer TG Vishwa Prasad said that the movie's box office result has let his banner regain its mojo.
"When I entered the film industry, many were skeptical, wondering why an NRI wanted to produce movies instead of remaining in the IT sector. Goodachari gave us the first break. In 2024, we took a substantial financial hit with the collapse of the non-theatrical market. The success of Mirai is giving us back our energy," the producer, who has previously bankrolled BRO and is currently also producing The Raja Saab, said.
Karthik Ghattamneni pitched the idea of Mirai after the first schedule of Ravi Teja's Eagle was finished. "I reposed faith in him because I had previously seen him finish a scene in Karthikeya 2 as the film's cinematographer with meagre resources. So, I trusted him that he would be able to shoot Mirai without exceeding a defined budget. I made this decision with my limited knowledge," Vishwa Prasad said.
"I began my career as an intern for a salary of just Rs 2000. I know the value of my money. I am not splurging money on movies as though I were the hero of Arunachalam (Rajinikanth's movie)," he remarked in a lighter vein, responding to trolls against him.
"We did this story with Teja Sajja because he is a committed actor. When we roped him in for this movie, HanuMan hadn't been released in theatres yet. I went purely by the director's decision," the producer added, suggesting that Teja has also been staying on top of the publicity campaign.
In his speech, he praised Manchu Manoj's "extraordinary performance". He revealed that music director Gowra Hari has a 4-film contract with People Media Factory. He also thanked VFX supervisor Ramji Dott, who coordinated with nearly 450 VFX artists.
Rana Daggubati, Vishwa Prasad revealed, was instrumental in getting a Hindi theatrical deal with Dharma Productions worked out. He also did a special character in the film (the post-credits scene).
