Director Krish’s latest venture ‘Kanche’ under the First Frames Entertainments banner starring VarunTej and Pragya Jaiswal is releasing on 22nd Oct. Y Rajeev Reddy and J SaiBabu are the producers. On this occasion, let us hear more about the film from Krish

Inspiration for ‘Kanche’…
There are many chapters in our history and we all, since our childhood, feel that history means just the days of freedom struggle. But, there is much more beyond that. 2 lakh soldiers from India have participated in the WWII. Military Madhavaram is a village in the Telugu state from which more than 2000 people participated in World Wars. Even now, more than 250 people are receiving the post war pension. 25 lakh soldiers were part of the war that was initiated by power addicted people like Adolf Hitler and Mussolini who wanted to rule the world. This means, there are 25 lakh stories in that war and this ‘Kanche’ is one of those. I have added a love story to that and made this.

Reason for taking WWII as the backdrop?
Two region.-North Indian and South Indian, two states-Andhra and Telangana, two villages- two castes, we always find ways to get separated. The WWII too happened for the same reason. I have done this Kanche on the same lines. Two villages will be separated because of a love story. They found a reason in the love story to get separated. To do the micro and macro analysis of this theory I have taken the love story and the World war respectively.

Varun is perfect fit for this role…………
I found truth and integrity in Varun Tej. Actually, I was supposed to do the first film of Varun Tej. But things haven’t worked. Since then I’m travelling with him. He is very honest. I needed an actor to perform the role who should look like a soldier and at the same time he should be innocent looking student and studying in Chennapatnam in the year 1936. Varun Tej perfectly dwelled into the character Dhupati Haribabu, who saves 75000 members in an Italian company in 1944. Everyone can do the role, but I felt that only Varun Tej is perfectly apt to the role. The story runs between Rachakonda province and Devarakonda villages with the basis of Military Madhavaram village. A girl who belongs to royal family and guy from a poor family falls in love. A soldier narrates his love story at a military campus.

The story was in my mind since then….
When I was penning the script, all the time Varun Tej used to be in my mind. After readying the bound script, I approached Nagababu garu and narrated him the script. After two days, I narrated it to Varun Tej. Both were very impressed. This story was in my mind since the time of ‘Vedam’. The World War II is the greatest war among all great world wars. But it has never been explored in Indian cinemas. It has given inspiration to the entire team.

We have not compromised…..
We have made the film with 700 to 800 members without compromising in terms of budget for the quality outcome of the film. We have completed the film within 55 days with the support of great team. Our film unit divided by team and researched several things. The film will have a major war episode. It was shot in Georgia. Few small war sequences will also be there. Rajiv and Saibabu garu have not compromised in any aspect. At first we estimated 20 Crores budget, but the film was completed with 19 Crores.

It’s a great team effort….
Chiranthan Bhat has given excellent music. He has provided music and background score in par with excellent lyrics. Sa Madhav Burra garu and Seetharama Sastry garu have given excellent dialogues and lyrics respectively. The film was made with great team effort.

Everyone appreciated….
Sanjay Leela garu and Mahesh garu are the force behind my entry into Bollywood. They encouraged me a lot in making ‘Gabbar’. Mahesh tweeted me immediately after the release of the theatrical trailer. Charan and Bunny too appreciated the trailer. NTR has called me from London to appreciate the trailer.

About next project….
Not yet decided. As of now, I’m waiting for the release of ‘Kanche’.
