V Praveen Chander awaits the release of 'Tera Venuka' on January 1. Starring Aman Preet Singh (who is Rakul Preet Singh's brother), the film is produced by Vijaya Lakshmi Murali Maccha. The director entered the film industry with the 1996 movie 'Pittala Dora', which starred Ali and Indraja. He debuted as a director with 'Bell', a film starring Sohel of Bigg Boss Telugu 4 fame. In 2015, he directed 'Bantipoola Janaki', which starred Dhan Raj, Deeksha Panth, Shakalaka Shankar and Sudigali Sudheer.

In his latest interview, Praveen Chander has talked about his upcoming release.

Excerpts:

We are releasing the movie in 200 theatres across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. This is a crime thriller with a social cause in mind. Aman Preet is debuting as a male lead and his performance is superb. The audience will love the distinct screenplay in the movie. The atrocities on women that have become rampant in society are a part of the narrative.

We have got She teams and special police teams giving protection and security to women. The security of women is something that is close to our film's heart. How we all can do self-defense is what the film drives home.

'Tera Venuka' brings out some unseen and less-known facets within the crime thriller genre. Even if the subject is familiar, the audience loves it if the telling is new. This film shuns the beaten path. Complete with four songs, 'TV' is also commercial. We completed the shoot in 45 days.

Besides Aman, Swetha Varma has done a nice job. She will be seen as a DGP. I consulted a retired DSP and learned about the nitty-gritty before executing the film. There is a lot of detail that has gone into making the film. How cops do investigations, etc., has been portrayed realistically.

The hero and heroine in this film are software employees who fall in love with each other. A crime takes place and how they investigate it is the crux. The film is inspired by a number of real incidents. We are glad that Rakul Preet, Sundeep Kishan, Manchu Lakshmi, Siva Reddy, Kasarla Shyam and several others have supported our movie. I am happy that DGM Sumathi garu released the audio of our movie. We are dedicating 'Tera Venuka' to the police department.

Although there is this pandemic and the occupancy limit is 50%, we are confident that 'TV' will be a hit. Films like this are meant for the big screen.

My next film is a love story. I am happy that two of my films are releasing back to back.

'Tera Venuka' also stars Visakha Thiman, Deepika Reddy, Anand Chakrapani, Nittala Sriramamurthy, TNR, Swetha Varma, Sampath Reddy and others.
