Actor Sudhakar Komakula in this interview talks about his character in 'Raja Vikramarka', which will be released in theatres on November 12. Catch him talk about working with actor Kartikeya Gummakonda, his upcoming movies, and more.

I thank the media for promoting the release of the 'Induvadana' song recreation (cover song) by Megastar Chiranjeevi garu. The media did it on its own without any push. I was glad that the legendary actor gave me and my wife Harika an appointment. My wife has been a classical dancer. We did the recreation during the pandemic.

Director Sri Saripalli has known me for 10 years. He offered me the role in 'Raja Vikramarka' because he felt I am apt for it. I did both 'Krack' and this film as an experiment. I am an ACP in 'Raja Vikramarka' and am posted at the Home Minister's office. Mine is a serious role. The character is crucial in the story and the characterization is interesting. It's quite different from everything that I have done so far.

'Raja Vikramarka' came to me and satisfied me when I was waiting for strong roles. Moreover, Kartikeya Gummakonda is a happening young hero. I am hoping this film will become a plus for my career. I played an important role in 'Krack'. The response for my role exceeded my expectations.

I did prepare physically for the role in 'Raja Vikramarka'. I had to do workouts for a couple of months to look the part of a cop. He is not a typical cop. The characterization and his journey are interesting. Working with director Sri Saripalli was great. He is a workaholic and is always energetic. He has become calm of late. His technical knowledge is strong. I have got combination scenes with Kartikeya in the movie.

After 'Life Is Beautiful', my subsequent films didn't do well. That's why my career hasn't taken off as well as expected. The choice of films may not have been right. Other factors, too, didn't work in my favour. I am positive-minded and am not disappointed. I have a strong hope that 'Raja Vikramarka' will offer me a new lease of career. November 12 is also a sentimental date for me.

I am receiving the right kind of stories and characters these days. While I am playing character roles, I want to play lead roles more. I like slice-of-life movies. My second film was a realistic one but it didn't work out. I also headlined a village-based movie but it too flopped. I like comedies and heart-touching characters. I prefer family entertainers.

In 'Narayana & Co', I am playing a middle-class person in a crime comedy zone. Aamani garu, Devi Prasad garu, and others have other crucial roles. In another movie, I am playing an aspiring army officer. I am a frustrated youngster in it. The story unfolds in a span of a night. 'GD' is my immediate next movie. It's a thriller. It's a found-footage movie on the lines of Hollywood thrillers. It is a night movie.

I recently did a private song made by 'Gaali Sampath' team. Vijay Bulganin has composed the independent song. It will be released soon. I am receiving OTT offers and might do a web series next year. Since I have lived in the US for several years, I will be doing an American project soon. It's a period romance set in the 1980s.

The audience and media are my biggest pillars of support. If I score a couple of hits, the industry too will support me. My wife is my biggest strength in life. She works in the US on projects and has stayed away from me due to work commitments. I am trained in boxing and want to do a boxing-based movie.
