'Narayana & Co', which is slated to be released in theatres on June 30, stars 'Life Is Beautiful' fame Sudhakar Komakula in the lead. Writer-director Chinna Papisetty has cast Arati Podi as the hero's wife and Pooja Kiran as his sister. Saptagiri, Ali Reza, Thotapalli Madhu and others feature in comedic roles in this Papisetty Film Productions and Sukha Media product. Written by Raviteja Goli (story) and Rajiv Kosanam (dialogues), the film has Devi Prasad as the hero's father. In this interview, Sudhakar says that a number of cliches have been broken in making the movie. For instance, four different composers have worked in the style of Bollywood and Hollywood movies.

I have long wanted to produce a movie purely for creative reasons. I am not business-minded. When 'Narayana & Co' came my way, I wanted to put my money into it.

I was doing a film by the name 'GD'. It's a youth-centric movie with foul language and a social message. Its writer, Siddham, came to me with 'Narayana & Co', which is a total contrast to that movie. I liked the involvement of different family members in the story. I chose to co-produce the movie in collaboration with others. Sukha Media is the name of my banner. It derives its name from my name and my wife Harikha's name.

The comedy doesn't cross the line in 'Narayana & Co'. We were conscious about keeping it clean. I am playing a middle-class person in a crime comedy zone. Family comedy and crime comedy are two different genres. We have tried to blend the two here. The running time is 130 minutes. Due to some reasons, the actual budget exceeded the planned figure.

Aamani garu and Devi Prasad garu are playing my mother and father, respectively. We could only think of Devi Prasad garu. Incidentally, I worked with him on 'Krack'. He is a jovial person off-screen. We felt he is quite apt for the role.

I am playing a frustrated, aspiring army officer in an upcoming movie whose story unfolds in a span of a night. 'GD' ('Gundello Dammu'), an action thriller, is also among my upcoming movies. It's a found-footage movie on the lines of Hollywood thrillers. It is a night movie. I want to do a boxing-based action movie and a dance-based movie. I also want to do an emotionally heart-tugging movie, which can make the audience tear up. I will be seen in an emotional film wherein I will don the get-up of Charlie Chaplin. It's a challenging character.

I am not interested in writing, generally speaking. However, if my input can help a film, I eagerly pitch ideas. I have been involved in dance choreography, digital photography, and cinematography, among other crafts.

Had I done a successful solo-hero film early in my career, my filmography would have been much better. I am biding my time and hoping for the best. 'Narayana & Co' is like my first attempt, in that I am making a new beginning, so to speak. After 'Krack', I haven't received exciting character roles. I have instead focused on doing lead roles. Doing not-so-significant supporting roles can be a distraction. That's why I have avoided doing them.
