28°C is unique in every respect: Producer Sai Abhishek

"Individuals suffering from brain damage cannot tolerate extreme heat or cold. This scientifically proven concept is at the centre of the story of 28°C. There is a suspense factor involved. This particular aspect will keep the audience glued to the story till the climax," said director Dr. Anil Vishwanath recently. Producer Sai Abhishek feels that 28°C is uniquely suspenseful and thrilling. Ahead of the movie's theatrical release on April 4th, the young producer talks about the movie's highlights in detail.

28°C has a unique temperature theme. The story-telling is refreshing. I have known director Dr. Anil for many years as a friend. He has worked in the direction departments of movies such as Kshanam, besides supervising and helming his own projects. We decided to collaborate on 28°C because we felt that the story is quite novel and can provide the audience a fresh experience.

Production of this film was fraught with challenges. A leg fracture early in the Vizag shoot was compounded by initial permit issues in Georgia. Thankfully, media attention highlighting the film's substantial budget led to the necessary approvals. Despite these setbacks, we remain confident in the film's quality and anticipate a positive audience reception.

Before we zeroed in on Naveen Chandra, a couple of other actors were considered. As for the female lead, Anjali was our first choice. We opted for Shalini because she carries a trendy vibe.

We shot the film in multiple locations, starting in Vizag, then moving to Goa, and later, Georgia. Never did we compromise on the quality of output. The making values are commendable.

Had it not been for the lockdown in 2020, 28°C would have been released long back. We spurned OTT offers because 28°C is best watched by the audience on the big screen as a celluloid experience.

Our movie is finally coming out in theatres this Friday (April 4th), thanks to distributor Vamsi Nandipati. He loved the content very much.

Right from the start, Naveen Chandra has had total faith in the content. His impressive performance will deliver the desired impact. Shalini's performance is persuasive. An atypical health challenge her character faces is at the core of the screenplay. She faces fatal risk of death if her body temperature crosses a certain point. The director has molded the core idea into an engaging screenplay.

Given the uniqueness of the situations and the story, this film can't be bracketed into any particular genre. There are thrills and also an intense love story.
