Santhana Prapthirasthu will be released in the Telugu States on 300 screens this Friday (November 14th). In the US, the film is releasing in nearly 200 locations through People Media Factory.
Producer Madhura Sreedhar Reddy says that India has been reeling under the pressure of delayed pregnancies, among other childbirth-related issues. In the age of hi-tech professions, there is a need to understand the problem that has been a taboo topic. Santhana Prapthirasthu makes a fervent attempt by steering clear of vulgarity. In this interview, he talks about the November 14th release headlined by Vikranth Reddy and Chandini Chowdary. The family entertainer co-stars Tharun Bhascker Dhaassyam, Abhinav Gomatam, Muralidhar Goud, and others.

The shoot was wrapped up in 56 working days. The initial plan was to do it in 50 days. Due to natural reasons like rains, the deadline could not be met. Sanjeev Reddy is an able hand whom I have been in a working relationship with for the past more than ten years. Ladies And Gentlemen, a film I produced, won a Nandi Award for the Third Best Film category. Sanjeev wrote that movie. I later produced his ABCD, his directorial venture starring Allu Sirish. For Santhana Prapthirasthu, I did participate in the writing process on the sidelines but the direction task was handled by Sanjeev from start to finish.
Hindi actors like Ayushmann Khurrana have attained fame through subjects not many would be willing to accept. Santhana Prapthirasthu was first offered to a few known actors in Telugu. They turned down the script because their image would not suit the story, which has the issue of male infertility at its centre. In came Vikranth, who comes with no baggage. Despite the so-called taboo topic our film dabbles in, the nature of content is clean and family-friendly.
The issue of male infertility is a significant one. Men living with this problem and trying to overcome it will gain confidence after watching our movie. Had the issue been a small one, there wouldn't be a spurt in the growth of centres offering fertility-related solutions.
We are confident calling this a musical family entertainer because of its proven appeal—all the film's songs have become certified hits. The music was a national sensation, trending at 15th across India, and even the trailer captured significant attention, trending at 32nd. After the trailer, we closed the overseas deal. The digital deal is also closed.
In the age of OTT and exposure to global content, people are ready to accept subjects. They don't want filmmakers to beat around the bush.
The humour involving the lead pair and artists like Vennela Kishore, Tarun Bhascker, Abhinav Gomatam, and Muralidhar Goud is natural. There is no out-of-place element in the movie.
Seeghrameva Santhana Prapthirasthu was the initial title that we mulled over. Since it was lengthy, we didn't choose it. The title we have chosen is totally apt.
Fake fertility centres are coming up (as news reports show). If the box-office result of this movie is positive, we will make a sequel.
Our production schedule is clear: We will finish the final 12 days of shooting for Anand Deverakonda's Duet. Looking ahead, I plan to direct a film of my own sometime next year.
I prioritize making rooted Telugu films over chasing large-scale pan-Indian projects, believing that a film that captures native audiences’ hearts is the one that naturally earns global recognition. My comfort lies in producing small, content-driven films. Santhana Prapthirasthu is a cute, honest attempt.

Beyond business, we have actively run Friendly Welfare, an NGO conducting various service activities, since 2003. While I have passion to produce movies, it is always important to collaborate with experienced people. Which is why I collaborated with Sreedhar garu. I plan to launch a special awards season to recognize debutant talents in the Telugu film industry each year.
I am elated to be making my directorial debut with Santhana Prapthirasthu. This is a clean family entertainer that tackles the topic of male fertility without vulgarity, offense, or crossing moral lines.
