Trisha Krishnan, who had been entertaining with her beautiful expressions all along the people in Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh, is all set to make her mark in Bollywood now. This pretty woman who played abundant roles as a village belle wearing traditional half saris mesmerized the youth and old in South. Now, she is going to enter Bollywood with Akshay Kumar starrer “Khatta Meeta”. It is director Priyadarshan, who first discovered Trisha is keen to introduce her around in Bollywood too. On the eve, Trisha shared her views on her entry into Bollywood. Some excerpts:
Bollywood Entry: Everyone is eager to know when I would be shifting to Bollywood. Yes, I have signed a film with Akshay Kumar under his home production. It is director Priyadarshan, who introduced me in Tamil and now it again he who is introducing me in Hindi too. Apart from ‘Katha Meeta’ co-starring Akshay Kumar under Priyadarshan’s direction I’ve signed two more films for Akshay’s production house.
Self-confidence: I am not a person who wants to do things hurriedly. I don’t do anything intentional in order to beat someone and stand on top. There are atleast 50 new heroines making their debut in Bollywood. That doesn’t mean that they are all threat to the existing heroines. I personally believe that opportunity knocks the door automatically if luck favours in getting good roles. So far I’ve done many impressive roles in Telugu and Tamil and now I am confident that I can make it in Bollywood too by selecting right projects.
No intention to leave South: Just because I agreed to do films in Bollywood that doesn’t mean I would be leaving the Southern film industry. I’ve already reached the top position in Tamil and Telugu, so I wanted to try my hand in Bollywood by utilising the opportunity that I got.
Working Schedules: For the past few years I have been working restlessly which made me too tired of work. So of late I am planning my schedules in such a way that I work from 9 AM to 6 PM only. I feel that I should take enough rest in order to be energetic always.
Health Care: It is nice to hear when people are saying that there is a fresh appeal in my face. The reason for it is that these days I am being very particular in my food habits. I take my food at the right time and rest appropriately. This apart, I am doing power yoga too which is a good exercise to muscles.
Family & Friends: I do not want to regret in future saying that I’ve been working all through my life restlessly. Therefore I work only 20 days a month and remaining 10 days I spend time with my family and friends.
Admires AR Rahman’s music: The only person that I admire in the film industry is AR Rahman. I love his music so much that I keep listening to it all the time. I am happy to say that he is composing the tunes for my current Tamil film ‘Vinnaithandi Varuvaaya’. Of late one can find me very often humming the songs from this film.
Director is my first choice: I choose films depending on director and the banner. I do not mind working even with a debut hero provided the story is good and my role in it.
Likes comedy: I like to play roles blended with comedy like the one in ‘Nuvvosthanante Nenodhantana’ and ‘Athadu’. My role in ‘Sankham’ also has similar kind of shade.
About Gopichand: Gopichand is an awesome actor who is capable to portray as hero and villain. He played the negative role in ‘Varsham’, therefore he would handle me roughly in that film. However I’m impressed with his performance in ‘Sankham’.
Swim Suit is not my cup of tea: I do not find anything wrong if heroines wear a swim suit. It’s nothing but one more costume. If anyone is wearing it, it is their comfort. But I do not want to wear it as I don’t find it comfortable. It is not my cup of tea.
Future films in South: Right now I am doing two films, one in Tamil and one in Telugu. The Tamil film is ‘Vinnaithandi Varuvaaya’ with Simbu. It is a beautiful romantic film and the screenplay is awesome. The second is ‘Namo Venkatesa’ with Venkatesh. In this film I am playing a foreign return girl. I’m getting many offers but have not agreed any ever since I signed the contract of three Bollywood films.
