Dhanush’s Telugu-Tamil bilingual 'SIR' is directed by Venky Atluri. The film is going to be released in theatres on February 17.

Its trailer was released today. Going by the visuals, the film is set in a bygone era - somewhere in the early 2000s or so. Dhanush is introduced as a school teacher who falls for his colleague, played by Samyuktha Menon.

The baddies are played by Samuthirakani and Sai Kumar, who are introduced in that order in the trailer. The hero faces the education mafia in this social action drama.

Songs like 'Maastaru Maastaru' and 'Banjara' are already out. The film's music is by GV Prakash Kumar. Director Venky Atluri is known for 'Tholi Prema' and 'Rang De'. He approached Dhanush with bare minimum expectations. Once he was done with the narration, the 'Thiru' actor asked him when the shoot would be begun. The director was mighty surprised.
