'SIR' celebrated its success meet in Hyderabad on Monday after a successful first weekend at the box office. Hosts Sithara Entertainment and Fortune Four Cinemas invited veteran filmmaker R Narayana Murthy as the chief guest.

The chief guest delivered a fervent speech, fittingly making a reference to APJ Abdul Kalam, whose life story is invoked by Dhanush's character in the movie in a crucial scene. Murthy said that 'SIR' is now in the company of noted films such as 'To Sir with Love', 'Badi Panthulu', and Hrithik Roshan's 'Super 30'. In a recent interview, director Venky Atluri said that the beats of his movie are completely different from those of 'Super 30', which is a biopic.

In his speech, Murthy described the 'Thiruchitrabalam' actor as a pan-India hero.

In his speech, director Atluri thanked the entire cast and crew. He made the gesture of calling onto the stage many crew members.

Actor Sai Kumar, who played a semi-negative in the movie, said that he has been flooded with congratulations from many parts, including from a remote village.

Hyper Aadhi, who played a comical school teacher, appreciated SIR's change-oriented message. He suggested that the bi-lingual wants far-reaching changes in the education system.

Samyuktha of 'Bimbisara' and 'Bheemla Nayak' fame is Dhanush's heroine in the movie. She said that people have started calling her 'Madam' after her character in the coming-of-age period drama. She suggested that someone was skeptical about her ability to pull off a teacher's role.

Cinematographer J Yuvraj opined that Dhanush has aced the protagonist Bal Gangadhar Thilak with ease.

The speakers also made a mention of Sumanth, who played an IAS officer in the movie. The 'Sita Ramam' actor thanked both the Telugu and Tamil audience for making 'SIR' a big hit.

Samuthirakani said that 'SIR' is about loving the society we live in. Tanikella Bharani, who played one of the good-natured characters, also came in for mention.

Almost all major speakers on the occasion highlighted the lofty theme of the movie. 'Vaathi' is the title of the Tamil version of 'SIR'.
