Director Srikanth Addala joining hands with producer Miryala Ravinder Reddy of 'Akhanda' fame has meant one obvious thing. The filmmaker has shed his family director image and has gone full bloody!
The first edition of the three-part 'Peddha Kapu', whose teaser was released today, stars debutant Virat Karrna as the rebelling comrade. A whole village is torn by the violent feud between Satyarangayya and Bayanna, played by Rao Ramesh and Aadukalam Naren.
The action scenes, choreographed by Peter Hein (whose name hasn't been heard often these days), look sincere. The fights play out in the backdrop of a jungle, a river and beyond.
As the teaser begins, we hear the voice of NT Rama Rao, whose 'Aathma Gouravam' slogan shook Andhra Pradesh in the 1980s. As the teaser ends, the slogan is raised ahead of the male lead's ultimatum to a feudal lord: "This is not a flag, this is our self-respect."
Co-starring Pragathi Srivasthava, Naga Babu, Tanikella Bharani, Brigada Saga, Rajeev Kanakala, Anusuya Bharadwaj, and Eeshwari Rao, the film's cinematography is by Chota K Naidu. Mickey J Meyer (music), Marthand K Venkatesh (editing), GM Sekhar (art direction), and Raju Sundaram (dance choreography) have worked on the movie.
